Monday was . . .
1 favourite scarf
2 long walks
3 cups of coffee
4 tiny oranges

6 times I was asked if I think Mary (Dory’s monster friend in Dory and the Real True Friend) is real or not
7 hands held
8 minutes of mindful breathing
9 times I said these words, “We don’t lie down at the carpet.”
10 minutes of after dinner dishes

12 classroom plants watered
13 minutes reading our novel in the morning
14 minutes reading our novel in the afternoon

Slice of Life is hosted by Two Writing Teachers. I thank them for the community they provide. Read more slices here.
Looks like a very nice day, Carrie. We had one spring day of wonderful weather today, too.
Spring weather is so enjoyed when we can get outside!
Love this. I thought I was the only one who said: “We don’t lie down at the carpet.”
I also say, “Nighttime is for sleeping.” quite often!
Love your number slice Carrie! Noting those little details hands held, plants watered…all special parts of a detailed day.
🙂 Absolutely!
This is a fun format for a slice. It’s amazing how those simple statements combine to paint a rich picture of your day. I wonder how many of us are saying “We don’t lie down on the carpet” simultaneously each day…
A very good question! today when we say it, I am going to imagine many others saying it too!
Love this creative approach to a slice of life!
Thank you!
I enjoyed this countdown of Monday- it painted a great picture of y our day!
Thanks 🙂
I love the things you noticed and found myself wondering what my numbers would be:) Yup, I say the carpet line too.
It was fun to think about the day and attach numbers.
So many numbers in a day. Love the number of minutes read at beginning and end of the day. That’s the way a day should go.
I so agree!
Very cute slice, Carrie. For some reason, I started craving hot chocolate after reading about your 3 cups of coffee. I have no idea what the connection is, but I figured I’d share what your slice is inspiring me to do next (i.e., make hot cocoa!).
Love this format –have to ask why 21 … is there a reason for the number?? 7 hands held was my favorite!!! Thanks for sharing.
Clare
This is awesome, Carrie! #11 is my favorite. That could be my line every day.
I enjoy this type of writing. I am impressed by your 12 plants!😀 I did a similar style, but described 10 things in my home.
